IIFL Home Loans jointly with AMC's South West Zone conducts massive awareness campaign against single use plastic


IIFL Home Finance Ltd. (IIFL HFL), leading housing finance company and Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) joined forces and conducted a massive awareness campaign against the growing menace of single use plastic. The most inspiring campaign was run efficiently with the support of MRSA and NEPRA at various residential societies in Makarba, Ahmedabad. The event was organised in the wake of a nationwide clampdown on single-use plastic that kicked off on October 2, 2019 on Gandhi Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi the father of the nation.

As part of the activity, single use plastic was collected and sent to a nearby recycling centre. Simultaneously IIFL Home Loans and AMC's South West Zone endeavoured to raise awareness about single use plastic and how people can reduce their usage. Apart from the top officials of IIFL HFL and AMC’s South West Zone, people from the following societies participated in this campaign:  Anaahata Apartment, Anvyaa, AsmaaKam, Atuulyam, Palm Greens, Satyadeep Heights and Shivam Priory, among others. 

Enthused by the success of the event, IIFL Home Loans together with AMC's South West Zone, is now planning to take this campaign to the next level by creating awareness in a big way through street drama and road shows at various RWA's, malls etc. Apart from spreading awareness about the pollution caused by single use plastic, all these activities will also focus on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Jal Sanchay and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashish Patel, Zonal Sales Manager, IIFL Home Finance Limited said, “IIFL HFL has gone big in its commitment to giving back to the society through organizing a series of social welfare activities and environment conservation campaigns and together with AMC we stand committed to beat plastic pollution. Considering that the world today is fast becoming a tinderbox as the threat to environment has increased alarmingly over the years due to the rampant use of single-use plastic, we aim to create awareness through a series of activities started from today on the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.”

The massive campaign witnessed keen participation and tremendous response from all the stakeholders including IIFL Home Finance Ltd,  AMC South West Zone,  Makarba Residential Societies and NEPRA, besides who’s who of the city. Among the participants also included Mr. Ashish Patel, Zonal Sales Manager, IIFL HFL, Mr. Suvas Thakka, Regional Sales Manager, IIFL HFL, Mr. Hemant Gajjar, Location Head, IIFL HFL, Makarba, Mr.Gaurab Gupta, Regional Marketing Manager, IIFL HFL, Mr. Hemant Pandya, Chairman - Makarba Residential Societies Association, Mr. Nishan Fofaria, Assistant Director, AMC Solid Waste Management Department and Mr. Kamal, Inspection Inspector, AMC Solid Waste Management Department, among others.
