Satin Creditcare Network Limited disbursed ~1 lakh Water & Sanitation Loans in Bihar covering 7,000 villages

Satin Creditcare Network Limited (“SCNL”), one of the largest microfinance company in the country, financed 1 lakh water and sanitation loans in Bihar. Water.org, (an international NGO working on safe water and sanitation) is the knowledge partner of SCNL for water and sanitation financing.
Present in 22 states, Satin Creditcare is empowering 3.5 million women by providing microcredit facilities to economically active women in both rural and semi-urban areas, who otherwise have limited access to mainstream financial service providers.
Talking about the achievement, Mr. Dev Verma- Chief Operating Officer, Satin Creditcare Network Limited said, “We would like to congratulate the teams of both the organizations for making this initiative a success. One of the major barriers to safe water and sanitation is affordable financing. Through this partnership, we have been trying to address this problem. Our partnership with water.org started in FY16 and since then, the organization has supported us as advisors for developing customized IEC material, market research, and providing training and capacity building content for our staff.”
He further added, “The average ticket size of the water and sanitation loan provided by us is Rs. 6,000 and Rs. 15,000 respectively. We have recently started offering water and sanitation loans in Assam so that more and more people can benefit from this initiative.”
