The City Palace, Udaipur soaked in grand celebration amidst the
echoes of Massed Pipes, Drums and Bass Band Presentation Marshal and
Patriotic Tunes at the event ‘Rajmahal Me Band Dwara Rastravandan’ organised by Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF) to mark the 72nd Independence Day of India.
Held
at Manek Chowk in the magnificent backdrop of The City Palace, Udaipur,
the grand ceremony started with ceremonial welcome for Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur, Chairman and Managing Trustee of Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation in
the presence of who’s who of the city. The tricolour was hoisted amid
the singing of the National Anthem and patriotic tunes were played by
different band groups as “A Tribute to the Nation.” The
Military Bands along with The Palace and MMPS Udaipur Bands delivered
spectacular band performances at the occasion. Among them included
Fanfare by Buglers, The Palace Pipes and Drums Band, 12 Rajputana Rifle
Pipes and Drums Band, Maharana Mewar Public School Pipes and Drums Band,
16 Sikh Pipes and Drums Band, Maharana Mewar Public School Brass Band,
16 Sikh Pipes and Drums Band and Mass Band, who played different tunes
and ragas and made the occasion a truly mesmerizing one.
Speaking at the event, Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur, Chairman and Managing Trustee of Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation said, “We
belong to a great nation and we have a long history of martyrdom.
Independence Day is a day to remember the sacrifices made by the martyrs
and nationalists who valiantly gave their lives to protect their
motherland and fellow citizens. Therefore it’s our responsibility to
honour them and commemorate their supreme sacrifice.”
Concluding the ceremony, Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur, Trustee, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur said, “At the occasion of Independence Day we must salute the true spirit of India and let us take a pledge to protect the peace and unity of our great nation.”
